Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 5, 2026
SkipSeen (“the extension”) skips YouTube videos you have already watched during autoplay. This policy explains what data the extension handles and how.
What data the extension handles
To do its job, SkipSeen stores the following locally in your browser, using the Chrome storage API:
- Watched-video history — the IDs of YouTube videos you've watched, used to decide which videos to skip.
- Settings — your on/off preference and related options.
- Session skip data — a temporary count and log of videos skipped during your current browsing session.
What we do not do
- The extension does not collect, transmit, or upload any of this data to any server.
- The extension does not sell or share your data with any third party.
- The extension does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind.
- The extension does not require an account or ask for any personal information.
All extension data stays on your device. If you uninstall the extension or use the “Clear history” button in the popup, the stored data is removed.
This website
The extension and this website (skipseen.com) are separate. The website uses Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and privacy-friendly: it counts page views and general referrer/device information in aggregate, sets no cookies, and does not collect any personal information or track you across other sites. It is used only to understand how many people visit these pages. Your watched-video history and any activity inside the extension are never involved.
Permissions
- storage — to save your watched-video history and settings on your device.
- Access to youtube.com — so the extension can detect the current video and skip already-watched videos during autoplay. No data from these pages is collected or transmitted.
